Common questions

  • This style of training acknowledges the various forms of trauma we may face in our life and is grounded in safety. We focus on healing through movement and mind-body connection.

It’s not a requirement to have trauma to work with me. This is a style that I’ve adopted in my training and life. It’s a little hard to ignore what is happening in a client’s life during our sessions. So much of our body is impacted by our experiences and so I am honoring that and taking it into consideration when working together. I’ll never push you past where you feel comfortable and believe growth happens regardless.

  • I do not offer talk therapy or other forms of psychological care. I do work with clients who are facing mental health challenges or have experienced various forms of trauma and can always work with your mental health care team at your request.

  • We’ll first start with a quick physical assessment and then co-create a plan that is achievable and realistic for you. Exercises, equipment, and cadence will depend on your goals and fitness journey.

All of my &STRENGTH programming is rooted in dumbbell strength work. However, based on where you’re at we may explore other options as well. Bodyweight exercises are just as good. I have broad training and experience to ensure that it makes the most sense for you.

  • We can do virtual sessions or small-group classes using a video meeting.

  • Currently, I can help guide you on how your nutrition and supplementation choices impact your health and fitness, but will not create nutrition plans or recommend diets.

  • That choice is up to you. I offer subscription-based services that can be cancelled at any time.

If we’re doing personal training, I recommend at least 3 months to establish a strong foundation for you to begin to incorporate the programming into your life. But again, this is totally up to you.

  • Absolutely not, I’m glad you found me.

  • All of the things. In my home studio I have various forms of weight equipment, a treadmill, and stationary bike. If I come to you, I’ll bring everything with me (aside from the cardio equipment.) My &STRENGTH approach is founded in strength training with breath and meditation.

  • I am not a weight loss trainer in that I will not track your measurements or weight. This will happen as a result of movement lifestyle change but not something I will ever talk about in sessions. You absolutely can have the goal to lose weight, we just wont focus on it working together.

  • As a certified pre/postnatal coach I’ll work with you to maintain strength and energy throughout your pregnancy. We’ll target mobility and preparing your body safely for labor and new parenthood.

Following the birth of the baby we specifically target core strength and tension release in the areas you’re constantly flexing (i.e. shoulders, arms, core, hips.)

I’m also a mom to two, one delivery vaginal and one cesarean and have learned a ton during both.

  • Yes, if you would like me to connect with any of your care providers I am more than happy to. With certain conditions, I understand there is a lot of information thrown around. By connecting with your care team I’m able to understand their recommendations and we can collectively discuss the best course of action for you.
